Overview

Learn everything you need to know about I.T Infrastructure and become an invaluable member of any organisation. Learn to implement technologies for systems and network services, manage a directory service, and master automated system and applications software deployment. You’ll also develop data storage solutions, write scripts to automate standard system procedures and administer infrastructure for remote network access. Plus, you’ll fine tune your communication, information design, personal and interpersonal skills.

Learning will be delivered using a blended (face to face) learning approach and you will be encouraged to engage with your fellow students and tutors in class and via your online learning portal.

You will build the knowledge and skills required to provide I.T infrastructure support. The programme is aimed at learners who are looking to enter the industry and who will apply industry relevant skills and knowledge to provide I.T infrastructure support and advice in relation to networking or systems administration in a range of organisations in Aotearoa.

On completion of this programme graduates will apply the transferable skills and knowledge gained to provide high quality IT infrastructure support and advice that meets an organisation’s needs. Graduates of the Networking strand may be employed in roles such as Network and Cloud Administrator, Network Associate, I.T technician or Service Desk Operator. Graduates of the Systems Administration strand may be employed in roles such as Systems and Cloud Administrator, Applications Support Staff, I.T technicians or Service Desk Operators.

To enter this course, you will need to hold the New Zealand Diploma of Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5) ; or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience

Applicants will need to be 18 years or older to apply.

English language requirement

  • IELTS
    provide evidence of an IELTS overall band score of at least 6.0 (Academic), with no individual band less than 5.5
  • Pearson Academic Test
    have a Pearson Academic Test score of 50 and above with no individual band score less than 42
  • LanguageCert
    have a C1 Expert Test PASS and above with no less than a pass in each skill
