Overview

In this 16 week course you’ll advance your existing welding skills and spend time in our ‘real-world’ workshop to gain up to four industry-recognised Welding tickets and your Certificate in Career Preparation for Specialised Welding Level 4.

Delivered through NZ Welding Trades & Services, within the Aspire2 Group and is an NZQA approved qualification.  You will be trained in the fundamentals of welding and working in an engineering environment.  Upon completion, you will be assisted to find work with a work or apprenticeship placement, and you will complete a ‘Site Safe’ passport.

You will learn

  • Examine industry standard drawings and processes
  • Complete and present specialised welds to industry standards for certification within a commercially viable timeframe
  • Construct welding specifications requirements to client or professional body
  • Communicate welding specifications requirements to client or professional body
  • Create a personalised work log
  • Create a portfolio of specialised welding tasks
  • Use WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) to demonstrate industry standard welds that enhance long term career goal
  • Use various types of sources to research potential career pathway
  • Formulate long-term career goals
  • Develop a targeted curriculum vitae (CV) for the trades sector

You will gain the Certificate in Career Preparation for Specialised Welding (Level 4). This programme is delivered through BOP School of Welding PTE, within the Aspire2 Group.

This programme is open to anyone aged 18 and over.

International students

If you are coming from overseas, to be eligible for this course you must be 18 years of age or older

English language requirement

  • IELTS
    provide evidence of an IELTS overall band score of at least 5.5 (Academic), with no individual band less than 5.0
  • Pearson Academic Test
    have a Pearson Academic Test score of 42 and above with no individual band score less than 36
  • LanguageCert
    have a B2 Communicator Test HIGH PASS and above with no less than a pass in each skill

$14,710 including GST. Includes all safety clothing.
