You'll study a short walk from the Sky Tower, the waterfront, shopping and cafés, so lunch breaks are never boring. Classes combine face-to-face teaching on campus with structured online learning.

The City Rail Link is on our doorstep

Auckland's new City Rail Link opened in September 2026, and the Victoria Street entrance to Te Waihorotiu Station is directly outside our campus. Step out of class and straight onto Auckland's train network, whether you're heading home, exploring the city or getting out to the suburbs.

Living in Auckland

Getting around

Auckland Transport (AT) runs the city's buses, trains and ferries. Get an AT HOP card: a reusable, prepay card for all three. Tag on before you board a train or ferry and as you board your bus, then tag off when you finish your trip. Register your card and plan journeys at at.govt.nz.

Save 40% on public transport. As a full-time student, you can get Auckland Transport's tertiary student concession: 40% off most buses, trains and ferries.

Register your AT HOP card in a MyAT account.
Ask Student Support Services for a physical student ID card with a tertiary ID sticker.
Apply for the concession online, or at an AT customer service centre with your student ID card.
Tag on with your AT HOP card within 60 days to switch it on.

The discount doesn't cover Waiheke or Rakino Island ferries, or travel to other regions.

Cost of living

To get a student visa, Immigration New Zealand asks you to show you have NZ$20,000 for each year of study (or NZ$1,667 for each month if you study for less than a year) to live on, on top of your fees. Typical costs:

Here's the best part: Auckland is built around two sparkling harbours and dozens of volcanic cones, so adventure is never far away. Catch a ferry to Waiheke Island, walk up Maungawhau Mount Eden for the view, surf at Piha or explore the Waitākere Ranges, all within an hour of the city centre.
